The Falklands are immense; a vast area comprised of almost 800 islands located just 300 miles east of the tip of South America. This archipelago offers endless horizons and striking white beaches and more 19th century shipwrecks than anywhere else in the world.

The sheer quantity of wildlife across water and land will captivate any animal lover. Massive nesting colonies of penguins, the largest colonies of black browed albatross in the world, sea lions, fur seals and elephant seals create dynamic coastal perspectives, while half a million sheep roam island inlands. Many cold water diving sites with kelp forests reminiscent of Monterey Bay, California.

The Falklands are also a perfect jumping off point for a cruise to South Georgia.

Ways to get there:

  • Weekly flights from RAF Brize Norton, Oxford UK via Ascension Islands
  • Weekly flights from Punta Arenas, Chile

Ideal months to explore: October - March
