Antarctic and South Georgia permit writing and application for Sea Shepherd

Antarctic Ice Pilot is to write the permit applications for Sea Shephard to conduct filming, including with drones, and science research off South Georgia and the Antarctic peninsula in February and March of 2023. Ashley was a little hesitant as she’s not a supporter of ‘direct action’, vessels colliding etc. which was a previous method of operations but was told this is no longer their modus operandi.

This Sea Shepherd project is to observe and film the krill fisheries, allowing the public to see what is happening in these remote regions. The fishing of krill is similar to palm oil in its environmental impact.

Addendum; check out the video link below, one of the end results of this great project. It has lots of great footage of South Georgia and the northern Antarctic Peninsula. Also its highly educational regarding a fishery most people don’t even know exists.
